In preparation to plant our vineyard, we had many tests done and we let our dirt and climate tell us what would grow best. We were delighted to learn it was the Bordeaux varietals. One of our favorites is Cabernet Franc. Our property has a creek side and an area we call the rock side where the soil is leaner and rocky. This is where we planted the Cabernet Franc. The wine that comes from that area produces deep ruby - garnet color and aromas of cassis and dark cherries . The mouthfeel silky and the palate is full with great black and blueberry fruit. The French oak adds light vanilla notes. The wine has a long, lingering fruit and spice finish.
