Eagle Eye Estate Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 is 100% from our Estate AlphaWOLF Vineyards. 2017 was looking like a one of those years with great weather conditions for excellent winemaking in the Napa Valley. We finished picking our grapes on Friday, October 6th. On Sunday, October 8th, the Tubbs Fire started and was one of the worst fires for Napa and Sonoma vineyards in history. We are so grateful our harvest was saved and our 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is a stellar wine. Our terroir (soil, clonal selection and climate) produces high acid wines that age beautifully and, if stored correctly, will last for at least 20 years. The 2017 vintage came from Clone 337 Cabernet Sauvignon. We pick our grapes at their peak. The wine was blended with 6% Petit Verdot and placed in new French oak barrels for 22 months, then bottled and released in 2021. The Petit Verdot provides the deep purple color, soft acids and layers of complexity. Ripe black berries, dark cherries and black currants fill your mouth with that first sip. French oak barrel aging adds silky vanilla to the long, fruit driven finish...A beautifully balanced, elegant wine.
